It’s the season of major music festivals. Think: Coachella, Lollapalooza, and of course, the 2026Essence Festival of Culture. With that comes an entire landscape of beauty trends (the more metallic and dramatic the better) we rarely see anywhere else. This season, it’s festival veteran Doechii who has been mastering what it looks like when festival glam is done right.
It makes sense, since the rap artist has spent the past few weeks in South America for a slew of festival performances. On her first stop, Lollapalooza Chile, her hairstylist Slayed by Matthew gave her a brushed out matte bouffant with a big half-up bump. Meanwhile, her makeup artist Chelsea Uchenna showed the extent metallic makeup could really go (we should all be brushing our bodies with glitter).
Then, over in Argentina, Doechii’s hair was the complete opposite: shiny water waves that preferred sleekness over volume. Meanwhile, her makeup also favored warm bronze and rose gold metallics over Chile’s yellow tones, while her eyes were much darker and smokier. “The boho era is in full swing,” Doechii’s makeup artist wrote in an Instagram of the look, describing it as a “dark feminine” style.
At Asuncionico in Paraguay, she wore natural textured hair, eye-encompassing pink blush, and proved you can never wear too much glitter to a festival. Then, she returned to the Lollapalooza stage in Brazil with a locked-up install her hairstylist called “bulletproof” under the sun, which bounced off of her brown-lined metallic lip. Her latest stop was Festival Estéreo Picnic in Colombia. There, she called herself a “literal Black Queen” with her hair wrapped into a red clay-colored scarf to match her makeup look and the short, brown auric French tips she wore on every stop.
Ahead, take a look at Doechii’s festival glam for inspiration on what to wear this season.
