Parenting is one of the hardest jobs, but full-circle moments make it all worthwhile.
Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant is appreciating a full-circle moment with her daughter Adore Bryant, who recently recreated her iconic sorority photo from almost four decades ago.
In the first image from the two-photo post, Adore is pictured wearing a green beret and pink bag, repping her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is also seen wearing a black jacket, a white shirt underneath, and a hot pink bag on her shoulder. In the second photo, which is of a young Gizelle, you can see that Adore’s picture is in homage to her mother.
Alongside the pictures, Adore, 19, also shared a moving caption, honoring her mom and her sorority sisters.
“Legacy,” she wrote. “I have fulfilled a life long dream of entering into the sisterhood Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. A dream that completes my mother’s legacy.”
She continued, “To you, Soror Mommy, I thank you for showing me the meaning of lifelong sisterhood and service. As I follow in the footsteps of the distinguished Gamma Theta women whom have come before me, I am forever grateful for the ability to be apart of something GreaTer.”
The student currently attends Hampton University in Virginia, which is also her mom’s alma mater.
“To my Gorgeous and Talented line sisters, I thank you all for pouring into me endless love, support, and sisterhood that will last a lifetime,” she added.
Adore concluded the caption with an ode to her sorority: “Beauty Unparalleled, Grace Undefined, An Alpha Kappa Alpha Woman is one of a kind.”
Gizelle, who became an AKA in 1990, responded to the shared post, saying how emotional the tribute made her.
“36 years later!!! This makes me cry. 🥲 #Legacy like no other! I love you Adore 🩷💚 Skee Wee My Soror Skee Wee,” she commented.
Adore’s twin sister, Angel Bryant, who is currently studying at Spelman College in Atlanta, also shared some words of support in the comments.
“SOROR TWINNYYYYYY!!! i am so proud of youu🩷💚,” Angel raved.
Grace, the oldest of the Bryant bunch, who attends Florida A&M, also showered her younger sister’s post with love, commenting, “Iconic.”
The reality TV star had all three girls with her ex-husband, pastor Jamal Bryant. She’s done an impressive job maintaining a tight-knit relationship with them, and the fruit of her labor is evident.
Many people talk about legacy, but not everyone gets to live it. Cheers to a mother-daughter sorors!
